Lightning POS ("the app") is a point-of-sale terminal that lets a merchant accept Bitcoin payments over the Lightning Network for physical goods and services. This policy explains what data the app handles.
The following is stored locally on the device (in the operating system's secure storage) and does not leave the device except as noted:
You can remove all of this at any time by unpairing the terminal in Settings.
When you charge a sale, the app sends order and invoice data (amounts, product
references, timestamps) to the backend operated for your business
(pos.lightningnetwork.tf, or the server address configured for on-premise use).
This is business transaction data, tied to the merchant account, and is not used
for advertising or cross-app tracking.
The app uses the camera only to scan pairing QR codes and product barcodes. Images are processed on-device in real time and are not stored or transmitted.
If you choose to email a receipt, the app opens your device's native mail app with a prefilled message. The email address you enter is handled by your mail app; the app does not collect it or send it to our servers.
Payments are made over the Bitcoin Lightning Network. The app only displays a Lightning invoice generated by the merchant's own wallet. The customer pays from their own external wallet, and funds settle directly to the merchant. The app never holds funds or private keys.
On-device data is removed when you unpair the terminal or uninstall the app. Business transaction data on the backend is controlled by the merchant; contact the business operating the terminal for deletion requests.
The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
